RESTORATION to CHRISTENING GOWN

CLEANING & RESTORATION

Whether you would like to restore a treasured heirloom or begin a new tradition with your new baby’s christening gown, we can safely remove yellow stains and discoloration. Ordinary dry cleaning does not remove oxidized stains, but our restoration process can, and it does not damage fabric or dyes. All work is done by hand, there are no harmful chemicals that will irritate your baby’s skin, and we guarantee our work.

Our Guarantee

Our written international guarantee is honored by each of our Certified Wedding Gown Specialists™ who are represented in more than 500 cities around the world. Any one of our members will inspect and press your garments at no charge when they are to be worn again.

Yoke and sleeve of Ayrshire christening gown, c. 1840, with typical Ayrshire whitework of flowers and leaves worked in satin stitches as well as decorative patterns of tiny holes cut in the fabric (cutwork) that are outlined with satin stitches. In the sleeve, the simpler patterns of larger cutwork together with the stitches that finish the rounded neckline edging and the pointed sleeve edging are called Broderie Anglaise or English embroidery.

About

cleaning

Choose us to give special care to family gowns such as a communion dress or suit, flower girl dresses, and ring bearers suits. We understand latent stains containing sugar, salt, and acid dry clear and do not dissolve during ordinary dry cleaning so we take an extra step to be sure all such stains are completely removed.

About

Preservation

Safe long-term storage of fine fabrics requires acid-free, archival materials, and we take the same care with children’s clothing that we do with wedding gowns and uniforms.
