When was your wedding and where did it take place?
We got married on March 16, 2013. The ceremony was held at St. John’s Uniting Church in Essendon, Victoria and the reception was at Caroline Springs, Victoria.
How long did it take to plan your wedding?
We were actually engaged for a really long time…5 years to be exact! It didn’t take us nearly as long to plan the wedding itself though–we were able to complete all the planning within one year.
When did you know that your wedding dress was “the one”?
I purchased my Roz La Kelin wedding gown at Fairytales Bridal in Moonee Ponds. I knew my gown was the one when my mum had a moment and got teary-eyed as I came out of the fitting room. It was the very first gown in that store that I had tried on. Afterwards, none of the other gowns I tried on gave my mum the same emotional reaction.
What is your absolute favorite memory from your wedding day?
Hands down, the best moment of the day was saying “I Do” and subsequently changing my last name so that my husband, daughter and I all finally shared the same last name.
Why did you want to get your dress cleaned and preserved?
I wanted to get the gown cleaned and preserved so that I can save it for my daughter. I love my dress so much, so I wanted to make sure to give it the proper care it deserved.
