Emma’s Wedding Gown Preservation

Emma’s Wedding Gown Preservation in Gisborne, Australia

When was your wedding and where did it take place?
We got married on November 8, 2014 at Drusilla Mansion in Mount Macedon and had our reception at the Mount Macedon Hotel in Victoria.

When did you know that your wedding dress was “the one”?
I really struggled early in my dress shopping experience with trying to find a Bohemian chic wedding dress instead of the typical ballgown wedding dress.  I did most of my researching online but found the sizing and styles very unreliable–I’m quite curvy so wanted to make 100% sure that whichever dress I chose would fit me perfectly!  So with only 8 weeks left before the wedding, my best friend dragged me to go dress shopping in Brunswick–I was hesitant because I was on a tight budget and that area is known for higher priced shops.

We ended up at a bridal salon called Hera Couture (where they design their wedding gowns).  The dress that ended up being “the one” was only the 2nd one I tried on–the moment I put it on, I knew it was absolutely perfect!  I didn’t even bother trying on any other dresses after it

What is your absolute favorite memory from your wedding day?
My favorite and most vivid memory from my wedding day is of walking down the aisle with my future husband waiting for me at the end.  It was such an intimate and magical moment.

Why did you want to get your wedding gown cleaned and preserved?
I’d love to keep the gown as a family heirloom that I can show to my children and grandchildren.  And perhaps if I have a future daughter or granddaughter, she’ll one day want to wear the gown on her wedding day.

The dress looks as good as new, it was treated with amazing care and was done in a very timely manner.  Their pricing was very reasonable as well, which was important to me.  The box is perfect for storage and also has a gorgeous little window so the dress can be viewed without taking it out.  I would highly recommend them to my friends and family!
