When was your wedding date and where was it held?
“Friday, 23 March 2018. Ceremony took place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St Kilda East…

…and the reception was held at the Rippon Lea Estate.”

Who is the designer your gown?
“Q’nique Bridal, purchased from Bluebell Bridal in Melbourne.”

    Tell us about your wedding.
“Steve and I met at high school in year 10. We were introduced by a mutual friend, who is actually my cousin and ended up being one of our groomsmen.”

“Steve waited 10 years to propose so he wanted it to be special. His plan was to propose in the Flagstaff Gardens with our dog Sunny, however there was torrential rain on the day he chose. So he improvised and came to visit to me at work, and proposed under the rose arbor at Flemington Racecourse.”

“Being an Event Manager, I pretty much had everything planned a week after getting engaged. I always knew I wanted to have my reception at Rippon Lea, I just had to make sure Steve was comfortable and after seeing it, he fell in love with the venue as much as I did.”

“The style of the wedding was ‘old world charm’ – think Gatsby. We also loved the garden at Rippon Lea and incorporated this in our invitations.”

“I had a very specific idea in my mind about what I wanted my wedding dress to look like. And of course I tried it on and it didn’t suit me at all! The girls at Bluebell Bridal asked me to try on a dress that I would have never picked to try on, and that ended up being the one. I loved my dress so much; I didn’t want to take it off at the end of the night! I have decided to preserve my dress so that one day I can show our children, and maybe even see my future daughter wearing it if I am lucky!”

“My favourite moment of the day was walking down the aisle with all of my family and friends in the one room. Seeing Steve waiting for me at the end of the aisle was better than I ever imagined!”

“The funniest moment of the day was Steve realising he left his suit pants at home two hours before the ceremony (we were getting ready in a hotel). Luckily he was two minutes away from Chapel St and was able to purchase a new pair of pants, and his Mum sewed the hem before they rushed out the door!”
