Josie’s Wedding Dress Preservation in Gisborne, Australia
Bride Josie and her husband were married this March in the Macedon Ranges in Victoria, Australia (just an hour outside of Melbourne). She had her gorgeous wedding gown custom made by a fantastic designer in Sydney (she even flew there once a month for her fittings!). Read more about her wedding and dress in our Q&A below!
When was your wedding and where did it take place?
We were married on March 7, 2015 on the jetty of our private property in the Macedon Ranges with 160 guests. It was a beautiful and warm day–it was also special because the sun came out just as we were saying our vows.
When did you know that your wedding dress was “the one”?
I chose a designer from Sydney (Rhonda Hemingway in Double Bay) who is a well-respected designer in the area. She created a gown that was exactly what I wanted, and it fit my body like a glove! With all of the fittings and alterations needed, I ended up flying to Sydney about every month for fittings. Once the gown was ready, I was overwhelmed and thrilled with the incredible job that she and her team did.
What is your absolute favorite memory from your wedding day?
I have so many favorite memories from my wedding day! But my top two favorite memories were walking down the aisle with my son toward my husband to-be while all of our friends and family looked on. My other favorite memory is dancing with my son and daughters at the reception!
Why did you decide to get your wedding gown cleaned and preserved?
I fully intend to save my gorgeous gown for my daughters!
